Introduction

Fax2mail is a new and innovative concept that enables you to receive your fax documents directly in the inbox of your E-mail via your personal fax number. No more faxes getting lost and you can receive your faxes wherever you can access your E-mail. You also have the option to activate the sending function of this service and send faxes directly from your computer when you are online. Fax 2 Mail saves you time and money.

Receiving faxes

You can now receive faxes anywhere, provided you have Internet access! On sign up you will be instantly allocated a personal dedicated fax number, where you will receive your faxes, which will then be forwarded to your E-mail address. These faxes are received as TIFF or PDF attachments, which can be easily viewed with Image Viewer or Adobe Reader so you don't normally have to install additional software. These faxes can be printed, forwarded, saved on disk/network and faxed.

Why

  • No need to distribute faxes from the fax machine to different locations - direct to the inbox of your Personal Computer

  • Received faxes can be forwarded to any number of recipients at a click of your mouse - no time wasted at a fax machine

  • Receive confidential documents in the Inbox of your PC - no papers lying around

  • Fax file attachments are easily viewed with Image viewer that comes with Windows operating systems

  • Specially designed to accommodate huge volumes of incoming faxes to specific addresses

  • Your own dedicated 0866 number for life.

  • No special additional hardware or software required

  • Receive your faxes where you can receive email.

  • No special skills needed

  • Save on paper and ink (Only print required faxes or pages)

  • Get your number instantly.

Step-by-step receiving a fax

1.      A fax is sent to your personal fax number.

2.      The fax is received at the delivery station. It is then automatically converted to an E-mail and sent to your E-mail address.

3.      An E-mail arrives at your PC with a TIFF or PDF attachment.

Sending faxes

You no longer need to spend time standing at the fax machine trying to get that fax delivered simply E-mail it! You may add your normal attachments such as pictures, spreadsheets and word processor documents. On receipt of your email we convert it to a fax and send it to the number(s) specified. Once completed the system sends you an email containing a delivery report.

See the user guide for details.

This delivery report contains:

  • the delivery status,

  • the destination fax number,

  • the subject,

  • date delivered,

  • the duration in seconds,

  • the charge,

  • and your remaining balance.

Key benefits

  • No fixed fax lines required, free up your phone lines.

  • No special additional hardware or software required.

  • No special skills needed -  same as using E-mail.

  • Only pay for successfully delivered faxes.

  • Saves time and reduces costs.

How it works - Sending a fax

1.      A fax is sent using E-mail and is addressed to the Recipient's fax number @ domain. The E-mail page will come out as a cover page with the attachment as the body of the fax.

2.      This E-mail is then turned into a real fax and sent through the gateway out over a Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) to the Recipient.

3.      A fax arrives at the Recipient's Fax Machine.

Known Issues - Sending a fax

1.      This service is not a replacement for a real-time fax, emails are stored and forwarded to fax server(s) for delivery, where they are processed, in order of priority. It can therefore not be compared to a real-time fax where a call is made the moment you press send.
